Cluster Fly Treatment North Wales
Cluster Fly Treatment North Wales

The grass flies or cluster flies or attic flies are classed as nuisance , our cluster fly treatment aims to resolve this.

They are strictly parasitic on earthworms; the females lay their eggs near earthworm burrows, and the larvae then feed on the worms.

Cluster flies seek refuge in cold weather and find their way into attic spaces and similar areas indoors. They often emerge on warm days, and cluster at windows attempting to exit (hence the name).

They will often be found congregating around window frames ( especially skylights) and around lamps.

Cluster Flies are often found in rural properties as well as static caravans.

They can be a major issue to home and business owners who are either constantly dogged with the emergence of fresh adults or being tasked with disposal of deceased flies.

Not only does this look unsightly to homeowners and potential customers but you also have the added issue of cleaning up the soiling’s left on all surfaces. Within these spaces, pheromones are left and the flies will return year after year, making the situation worse.

How do we conduct cluster treatments?

The preferred method of cluster fly treatment is insecticide via Ultra Low Volume Fogging (subject to an inspection for Bats). This is a very effective method of control, acting as a flushing agent as well as on the fly by contact and ingestion.

Amateur use products available online are rarely effective and it is far more cost effective to employ a professional.

Where ULV fogging cannot be undertaken we can apply insecticidal barriers around window frames or supply and fit Electronic Fly killers.

We strongly suggest a treatment plan of at least two visits per year for ULV fogging as this will dramatically reduce numbers.

Please note that treatment via ulv fogging cannot take place if there is evidence of Bats.

We specialise in commercial pest control, and offer routine pest prevention visits ( contracts ) on 12 or 8 visits yearly , this is very helpful to food premises looking to retain or gain a high food hygiene score. A site survey will need to be conducted prior to a plan being put in place as every site is different.

Our Rodent control programmes are a minimum of 3 visits, on occasions more may be required depending on the level of infestation.

Absolutely. While DIY pest control treatments may appear effective at first, the general public do not have access to the most effective equipment , in fact DIY treatments usually end up causing more damage and never fully resolve the issue, often at a far higher cost than it would have been to hire a professional. Attempting DIY pest control also places you at a much higher risk of injury or contracting disease, its a false economy.
